BOX OF SECRETS
The concept is based on a “wandering box”—a transparent urban sculpture filled with secrets, in the truest sense of the word. It functions as a catalyst for encounters, addressing communication, our human nature, and our essence in relation to the connections we build—with ourselves, with one another, and with the respective context of the city. Keep an eye out: one can encounter the box anytime, anywhere.
A mobile sculpture for introverts and extroverts alike: interactive, user-friendly, and designed to foster modest connections by offering engagement while simultaneously producing publicity. Operating as a simple game ultimately rooted in mutual trust, it highlights the will to share, to belong, and to listen. The sculpture poses fundamental questions: How do we create bonds? How do we overcome marginalization? Or: Can you keep "a secret”?
The game is fundamentally based on a very simple rule: write down a secret, drop it into the box, and in return, receive the chance to draw and read one of the secrets already contained within the box. That is all! Give and take—a simple, archaic mechanism. Its motor is human curiosity, the desire to share or to belong, in view of the deep need for intersubjectivity. A system with an infinite tendency based on continuity. It requires at least two participants to complete a dialogue (loop); naturally, numerous one-on-one loops emerge within the sculpture. The element of chance harbors a mystery: for within it lies the potential to generate further dialogue. The artwork exists through its non-hierarchical and open-ended relationship to the participants and to the world.
